The other day I came across this self-initiated project by Nicole Meyer, entitled "Branding 10,000 Lakes." Really, really cool stuff. Her mission is "One Minnesota Lake. One Logo. Every day. Should only take a little over 27 years to hit 'em all. Stay tuned and enjoy!" I can't decide whether or not she is being sarcastic or extremely ambitious, but either way I think it is a great project, and I do think she is pulling it off nicely. It seems like self-initiated projects like these can really put graphic designers on the map, especially in today's day and age of blogging, image bookmarking, and social networking. Something like this really reminds me of other projects like Daily Drop Cap by Jessica Hische, which has become another great custom typography reference for me. Anywho, I'd love to do something along the lines of these projects, but where is the time? Less sleep, I suppose..
